Mémorial de la Résistance et de la Déportation

9 rue du Théâtre
Plateau des Ursules
42000 Saint-Etienne

Description

Opened in 1999, the Memorial represents and spreads the values of its founders, the Resisters and Deportees from the Loire, by valuing engagement, promoting tolerance and fighting against discrimination and extremism.

By keeping and handing down the Memories of all those who rejected servitude, this Memorial reminds us that the message passed on by Resistance fighters and people who were deported to concentration camps goes beyond their own suffering and that it comprises strong values which are just as valid today.
