Guided tour of escargot Baldo snail farm
Description
Heliciculture, now there's a word you might have heard before... One thing's for sure, it's nothing to do with manufacturing helicopters or making cough mixture.
Heliciculture actually means farming a harmless horned beast - the snail. The happy dad of this very large family is called Gilles Déléage. His farm has fields, planks, nets, a laboratory, not to mention lots of hose pipes. Oh yes, and you need plenty of vegetation, rape or clover, for the youngsters to eat. And a sad end awaits all of them for they are destined to end up in our plates… to the delight of snail lovers everywhere. Are you drooling at the very idea? Well you know what you have to do now... Get out of your shell!
