Description

François de Bartholy, lord of Saint-Bonnet, had a parish church near the Château built in 1637. This church was replaced by the current church in 1858.
This Neo-Roman style church has semi-circular arch openings. The Eastern façade is topped by a hexagonal bell tower and a church spire. This bell tower was redone in 1949. A statue of the Virgin Mary blesses the village from the top of the western façade. Lining both sides of the central nave are columns topped by capitals beneath a barrel vault. This vault was demolished in 1964 and replaced by a coffer ceiling level with the capitals. The steps and platform outside were fitted with tombstones from the cemetery that used to surround the church. There is a walnut pulpit and woodwork decorated by a fresco dating back to the 19th century in the choir.
